Mercer Island realtor honored

Jim Dierst of John L. Scott Real Estate, Mercer Island, was named the Governmental Affairs Volunteer of the Year by the Seattle King County Realtors.
Dierst’s numerous positions with SKCR’s governmental and public affairs activities spans several years, including service during 2010 and 2008 as vice president. Among various leadership roles with the national, state and local associations, he has been a director with the National Association of Realtors (NAR), a member of the state association’s board of directors and legislative steering committee, and a member of SKCR’s board of directors.
Dierst has extensive involvement as an outstanding volunteer with SKCR’s candidate interview teams and legislative issues. Among his community activities, the University of Washington graduate is a member of the John L. Scott Foundation and UW Husky Alumni Association.
