Dale Vogel and Nancy Bird, of Mercer Island, Wash., announce the marriage of their daughter, Melissa Bird-Vogel, to Reid Lawrence Wilkes, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Wilkes, of Ardmore.

The couple was married on July 18, 2010, at Roche Harbor, San Juan Island, Wash.

The bride graduated from Eastside Catholic High School in Bellevue, Wash., and received her Bachelor of Arts in psychology and film/video from Duke University in Durham, N.C. She is currently attending the University of Washington, working on her Master of Arts in digital media communications. She is the owner of Blue Bird Strategies in Kirkland, Wash.

The groom graduated from Ardmore High School and received his Bachelor of Science in computer science from the University of Oklahoma.

He received his Master of Science in computer science from the University of Washington.

He is employed as a senior program manager at Microsoft Corporation in Bellevue.
