Strictlyfest at Mercerdale Park this Sunday, Aug. 15

Strictlyfest returns to Mercerdale Park this weekend.

The day-long music festival debuted last year when Mercer Island High School graduate Colin Ramsay's band, Strictly Prohibited When Thunderstorm, disbanded after graduation but wanted to benefit the MIHS band program by playing together one final time.

This weekend, the event will raise money for the MIHS band program and its 2010 winter break trip to London. The festival, which includes a silent auction, runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday, next door to the Mercer Island Farmers Market. Band merchandise, shirts and raffle tickets will be available for purchase. All proceeds go directly to the MIHS band program.
