Mercer Island graduate wins Lincoln Award scholarship

Rosemary Leach, a 2010 Mercer Island High School graduate, won a $1,000 scholarship for college in the Lincoln Award essay contest sponsored by the Mercer Island Republican Women group.

Leach plans to attend Cottey College in Nevada to study nursing and also received an award for being in the top 10 percent of her class statewide. While at school on Mercer Island, she participated in marching band and tutoring programs, and is a member of the Covenant Church.
