Marianne Meldrum Gulliford and Robert Lee Strum were joined in marriage on July 29, 2010. The wedding took place in the North Cascades, on Lake Domke, a special retreat that the Gulliford family has been going to since her father was a small boy and since she was a little girl. The family has been Mercer Island residents during all of Marianne’s life.

The bride is the daughter of Don Gulliford and Sharon Setzler, of Mercer Island, and Ms. Donna Gulliford, of Bainbridge Island. She graduated from Mercer Island High School, Western Washington University and City University. She presently is an elementary teacher in the Edmonds School District.

The groom is the son of James and Virginia Strum, of Poulsbo, Wash. He is a senior project manager for Osborne Construction Co. in Kirkland.

The couple was entertained at a large luau reception at the bride’s mother’s home in late August. Attending were friends and relatives from many different parts of the country.

The couple now resides in Madison Park.
