Young Mercer Island residents Lily Behar, 6, and Alex Wolff, 6, raised $240 at a lemonade stand this summer.

They decided earlier in the school year to set up a stand near the Farmers Market and donate all money raised to Seattle Children’s Hospital. When asked why they wanted to donate the money, they replied, “We wanted to help kids feel better.”

Lily and Alex attend West Mercer Elementary and plan to make this an annual event for Seattle Children’s.
