Local chapter of Charity League starts season off with food drive

The Evergreen Chapter of the National Charity League has kicked of its season with a canned food drive for Northwest Harvest and a school supply drive for the Aki Kurose Middle School in Seattle. This Mercer Island mother-daughter philanthropic group of 284 members serves over 20 local philanthropies, including Eastside Domestic Violence, Hammond House, Mercer Island Care and Rehab, Mercer Island Farmers Market, Mercer Island Youth and Family Services, Treehouse and Special Olympics.
