MIHS Chess Club is 10th at state

Members of the Mercer Island Chess Club finished the 2010-2011 season by earning a 10th place finish at the state tournament in Blaine, Wash., earlier this month.

Team members include Hubert Jung, Caleb Chuck, Sheen Kaul, Jimmy Abrahamson and Caley Petrucci.

Jake Abaloufia and Kara Glass competed in the JV individual tournament. Glass was fourth out of 40 competitors. The team was coached by Leo Stefurak.
