Mercer Islander performs at Jazz Alley for Japan

Mercer Island resident Gail Pettis will make her debut at Dimitriou’s Jazz Alley for two nights, April 19 and 20, in concerts to benefit the Japanese Red Cross Society.
Pettis is a four-time nominee and 2010 winner of Earshot Golden Ear Awards “Northwest Vocalist of the Year.”
In 2006 Pettis performed in Kobe, Japan, as a guest artist at KAVC Hall as first place winner of the Seattle-Kobe Female Jazz Vocalist Audition. Kobe is Seattle’s sister city.
Band members on Tuesday are Pettis on vocals, Darin Clendenin on piano, Clipper Anderson on bass and Mark Ivester on drums. Band members on Wednesday are Pettis, Randy Halberstadt on piano, Jeff Johnson on bass and Ivester.
Doors open at 6 p.m., Tuesday, and 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, with the performance at 7:30 p.m. both nights. All of the $10 (or more if you can donate) will go to the Japanese Red Cross.
