Learn more about home gardening, organic gardening and gardening with your family with the new SJCC Kesher Community Garden lecture series at the SJCC Mercer Island campus. The first talk is entitled “Regional Food” and is set for Sunday, May 15, 10:30 a.m. at the SJCC.

Farmer Adam McCurdy will talk about how eating fresh, locally grown organic produce can positively affect your greater well-being and overall health. Learn some easy planting secrets from a 13-year farmer to help you succeed in growing your own food in your yard or your pea patch plot.

McCurdy will also talk about the Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) concept and the importance of our regional food system and ways the community can support and benefit from it.
