The granddaughter of Mercer Island couple Dr. and Mrs. Farrell Albright will compete for the title of Jr. Miss United States-World in Houston. Claire Albright, 12, was recently crowned Jr. Miss Washington-World.

A seventh-grader at Chinook Middle School in Clyde Hill, Albright is a member of the National Charity League and a competitive dancer. She also volunteers at Meow Cat Rescue and Dance for A Cure, a fundraiser for Fred Hutchinson Research Center.

The Jr. Miss United States-World pageant will be held in July.
