State representative Marcie Maxwell (D-Renton) stands with Islander Middle School eighth-grader Sabrina Kavesh, of Mercer Island, on the floor of the House of Representatives, where Kavesh served as a legislative page during the week of April 10. Any student (age 14-17) is eligible to serve as a legislative page in the state House or Senate, where for one week, they deliver messages for lawmakers and learn firsthand about the democratic process. If you know a student interested in serving as a page, they should contact their local lawmakers.
