Two Islanders are National Merit Scholarship winners

Benjamin T. Boyle  and Alyssa N. Suhm, both of Mercer Island, have been awarded National Mercer Scholarships.

Boyle, who has graduated from Eastside Catholic High School in Sammamish, listed his probable career field as chemistry. He was awarded a scholarship to attend Whitman College in Walla Walla, Wash.

Alyssa N. Suhm graduated from Mercer Island High School in June. She listed her probable career field as environmental science. She was awarded a National Merit Villanova University Scholarship to attend Villanova University, just outside Philadelphia.
