The annual visit by the Christmas Ships is scheduled for a Mercer Island appearance on Friday, Dec. 16.

The boats, illuminated with lights, will come to Luther Burbank Park on Dec. 16 from 7:50 to 8:10 p.m.

The event, put on by Argosy, has been a tradition in the Northwest for 62 years. The group of ships travels to a different waterfront community each night through Dec. 23. The boats feature choirs that will sing a 20-minute performance during the visit.
