With tax season just around the corner, the AARP is offering free tax assistance and preparation in Bellevue to those who are 60 and older.
Tax preparation for taxpayers over 60 in low to middle income tax brackets is available from Jan. 31 through April 17. Being a member of AARP or a retiree are not required to use the service.
AARP Tax-Aide volunteers can help make the process easier, and all volunteers have completed a training program with the IRS to make sure people get the best results.
Last year more than 1,000 AARP Tax-Aide volunteers helped over 56,000 residents file their income tax returns.
In Bellevue, the program will be offered at the North Bellevue Community Center, Newport Way Library and the Microsoft Store in Bellevue Square.
