MIHS alum earns Rotary Ambassadorial scholarship to study global medicine

Mercer Island High School alum and Wake Forest University graduate, Grace Wandell, has earned the 2012-2013 Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship to study global medicine.

Wandell, a 2008 MIHS graduate, will travel to Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden in the fall to earn her master's degree in global health.

The Rotary Ambassadorial scholarship program sponsors undergraduate and graduate student. While abroad the scholars will serve as goodwill ambassadors to the country and give presentations about their own culture to Rotary Clubs and other groups. Once home, the students share their experience with Rotarians.

Wandell plays to study world health challenges, such as health economics, health policy, infectious disease and health demographics.
