Preschool children explored a variety of vehicles on Thursday, May 17, at the Stroum Jewish Community Center's annual truck day event, which featured tractors, a fire truck, police car, big rigs and more — 20 in total. The library's 2-Go van was also present, and kids could watch science experiments staged by a Pacific Science Center staff member.

Below, Mau Kassner, 4, left, plays with a handset in a Mercer Island police car, with Brandon Holan, 3, right. Mercer Island firefighter Matt Kennedy gives a little boy a lift out of the fire truck; and Harper Stroup, 3, climbs into a John Deere tractor wheel. Nyah Wang, 3 1/2, takes the wheel of a cab.
