Four Islanders who began as Cub Scouts are to receive their Eagle Scout awards this Sunday. The four scouts started together in Cub Scout Pack 624, Den 2, with dad Carson Hornor.

The four boys advanced together into Boy Scouts at age 11, in 2005, and formed the ‘Pickles Patrol’ with several other school friends.

Highlights of their joint scouting career include a 62-mile hike at Philmont Ranch, sailing at Sea Base in Florida, and the National Scouting Jamboree 2010 in Virginia.

To achieve Eagle status, each scout planned, led and completed a community service project.
