The team from West Mercer Elementary and Islander Middle School earned top 20 finishes, competing against students from around the world.

The West Mercer team, called the Six Musketeers, finished in 20th place out of a field of 60. The team includes: Adam Zaborski, Lilly Zaborski, Justin Skene, Ellie Park, Damien Snyder and Harly Hunapiller.

The IMS team, called the Mythical VII, finished in 12th place out of 80 teams. The team includes: Aidan Wang, Josh Park, Grace Hunter, Ben Stoops, Cole Nielson, Bryan Zhao and Joe Park.

"Both teams represented Mercer Island well and were great ambassadors for our district," said coach Mark Headlee. "They had a great time interacting with over 8,000 creatively gifted students from 42 states and 15 countries. We can all be very proud of these students.”
