2012 MIHS senior awards honors 28

Tuesday, May 29, was Senior Awards Night at Mercer Island High School.

The Mercer Island Community Scholarship Program awarded $500 scholarships to 28 exceptional students, selected by MIHS faculty. Each scholarship recognizes outstanding attitude, effort and achievement by a student in a particular curriculum area. The scholarship must be used by each student to further his or her education.

This program is funded through community contributions and the sale of Graduate Grams, and sponsored by the Mercer Island PTA Council.

Scholarships were awarded to:

• Bicentennial Award – Ryan Rouillard

• Principal’s Award – Karl Olson

• Chamber of Commerce Award – Max Foster

• Crest – Daniel Rowe

• CTE – Matt Sexton

• Debate – Elissa Picozzi

• Drama – Brianna Ford

• Health – Andrew Lee

• PE – John Lee

• Journalism – Jion Kim

•Yearbook – Edwina Chuong

• Math – Andrea Lin, Tuanh Vu, Kendall Fagan

• Science – Samy Lanka, Julian Hirsch, Aaron Gittelman

• English – Billie Heard, Michael Lewis, Lauren Knebel

• Music – Caley Petrucci, Karen Yuen, Annelise Giseburt

• Social Studies – Alex Mesher, Anna Partridge, Elizabeth Orem

• World Language – Leila Mozaffarian, Hannah Johnson, Shannon Russell

• Visual Arts – Mina So
