The Luther Burbank Park swim beach and docks will be closed on Tuesday, Aug. 28 for work on the park's floating dock.
The dock project will move the existing floating dock to it's new location within the existing cement dock configuration. The dock is currently used for boating programs with the Parks & Recreation department during the summer.
The project will require crews to remove seven piles, three located at the dock area and one south of the single pier dock and three located at the swim beach. Removal of the piles will allow for better lake habitat and fish spawning areas.
The project is expected to begin Aug. 27 and go through Aug. 29. During the entire project the dock will be closed for use.
To learn more about the project, contact the Parks & Recreation Department at (206) 275-7848.
