Mercer Island Interfaith Service: 7:30 p.m., Nov. 21, Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 8501 S.E. 40th Street. For over 40 years, the Mercer Island Clergy Association has sponsored an interfaith service on the evening before Thanksgiving.

Carols & More: 12 p.m., Nov. 27, Mercer Island Covenant Church, 3200 78th Ave. S.E. Pre-Christmas luncheon and program presented by Lively Saints. Featured guests: Major Doug Tollerud and The Salvation Army Brass Ensemble. Anyone 50 and up is welcome. Cost: $5. Tickets: (206) 232-1015.

Ten Thousand Villages is a fair trade retailer of artisan-crafted items from around the world. It is a Christian organization that serves as a bridge between artisans in their villages and external markets. www.tenthousandvillages.com.

The Dickens Carolers: 1-1:30 p.m., Dec. 1; 3:30-4 p.m., Dec. 2. The carolers, in elegant Victorian dress, sing traditional and contemporary holiday favorites in four-part harmony. Cookies and punch provided.

Children’s Craft Workshop: 1-4 p.m., Dec. 1, Mercer Island Covenant Church, 3200 78th Ave. S.E. All children are welcome to come make their own gifts for family, friends and teachers. Christmas Tree Lighting and Firehouse Munch: 6-8:30 p.m., Dec. 7, Mercerdale Park, S.E. 32nd Street and 77th Avenue S.E. Radio Disney: 6 p.m. Tree Lighting: 6:30 p.m. Firehouse Munch: 7 p.m. Gather with family, friends and neighbors for an evening of holiday merriment at the tree lighting ceremony and caroling. Then head to the North end firehouse for Santa photos, treats and children’s entertainment. Bring an unwrapped toy for Toys for Tots drive.

Bells of The Sound Concert: “Home For The Holidays,” 7:30-9 p.m., Dec. 7, Mercer Island Presbyterian Church, 3605 84th Ave. S.E. Puget Sound’s premier handbell ensemble performs holiday classics. Mingle & Jingle in Courtyard: 6-7 p.m., with food and activities for all. Suggested concert donation: $10 (adults), $8 (youth, seniors); free for children under 8.

Breakfast With Santa: 10 a.m.-12 p.m., Dec. 8, Mercer Island Community and Event Center, Mercer Room, 8236 S.E. 24th Street. Bring the whole family to this festive breakfast. "Angels": 7 p.m., Dec. 8; 2 and 7 p.m., Dec. 9, Mercer Island High School. Performed by Island Sound. Tickets: $15 (at door). Middle/high school students with ASB: $10 (at door).

"Excerpts from the Nutcracker" Opening Matinee: 2 p.m., Dec. 15, Youth Theatre Northwest, 8805 S.E. 40th Street. Performance times: 1 and 5 p.m., Dec. 16; 7 p.m., Dec. 19; 2 and 7 p.m., Dec. 20. Performers are trained in the Royal Academy of Dance classical ballet curriculum. They are students of Island Youth Ballet and the Children’s Dance Conservatory. www.iybnutcracker.com.
