UPDATE: As of Friday, Dec. 7, the Cairn terrier has not been claimed and he will be put up for adoption beginning Saturday, Dec. 8, at the Kent Animal Care and Control Shelter.

A Mercer Island resident found a stray male Cairn terrier after noon on Monday, Dec. 3, along 93rd Avenue S.E., a block east of Mercer Island High School, took the dog home and called King County Animal Control. The dog had a harness without a tag, and is not microchipped.

The resident, who wanted to remain anonymous, thought he had found the same dog, lost, six months ago and had been able to reunite the dog with its owners because of its GPS collar.

The terrier is currently at the Kent Animal Care and Control Shelter, which can be reached at 296-PETS. The shelter is located at 21615 64th Avenue South, Kent, Wash., 98032. For more information, see the shelter's website here.
