A former employee of a Town Center business is suspected of opening several credit accounts under the company’s name, getting cash advances with the credit cards and using company funds to make the payments on the cards between Feb. 1 and May 1. The suspect, an Islander, has fled to Thailand.

According to the incident report, police received a report that juveniles were drinking and playing loud music. After responding, police could see many teens with alcoholic beverages in their hands through the window. While the parent was out of town, police arrested a 16-year-old for furnishing alcohol to minors just four days before the young woman’s birthday.
A 26-year-old Oregon man was arrested for driving drunk in the 2400 block of 77th Avenue S.E. around 1:30 a.m. on May 31 after police observed him driving on the wrong side of the road.
Approximately $10,000 worth of construction equipment was stolen from a garage in the 8000 block of West Mercer Way, the night of May 28. According to the incident report, four five-foot job boxes containing numerous tools and equipment were stolen after the thieves forced open the garage door of a residence.
An attempted burglary occurred at a home in the 2800 block of 60th Avenue S.E. sometime between May 24 and 26. According to the incident report, a sliding door was lifted out of its track, but the suspect did not gain entry into the home. Police took fingerprints from the door.
Several appliances were stolen from a home under construction in the 8800 block of S.E. 40th Street sometime between May 20 and May 31. According to the incident report, a realtor found the front door unlocked, and the refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher and stove were gone, as well as the lock box and an Asian rug.
A Nintendo Wii among other things was stolen from a home in the 3000 block of 61st Avenue S.E. on May 29 while the homeowners were away. The burglar entered the home from an unlocked bedroom door.
Police arrested a 41-year-old Newcastle man on the waters of Lake Washington for operating his boat under the influence of alcohol around 3 p.m. on May 24. A German Shepherd attacked a small Shetland Sheepdog in the 7500 block of S.E. 71st Street around 9 a.m. on May 30. According to the incident report, the owner of the Sheltie was walking her dog to her mailbox when a large German Shepherd charged her dog and started biting it. The Shepherd’s owner came out and separated the dogs, but the 54-year-old victim said two days later in a follow-up report that her dog had a noticeable limp.
Police towed a vehicle for parking in a restricted area in the 7600 block of Sunset Highway after the vehicle owner parked within one foot of a No Parking sign but removed the sign while he parked there between 8:40 and 9:30 a.m. on May 30. According to the incident report, the driver admitted that he had moved the No Parking sign to park on a planting strip and then later put the sign back.
