Island Books is hosting Islander Patty Lazarus, author of "March Into My Heart," at a book signing this weekend. Lazarus will read from her book at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 24, at the bookstore.
"March into My Heart: A Memoir of Mothers, Daughters, and Adoption" is Lazarus' personal story of her quest for a daughter. She shares her story with the hope that others may find the strength to consider adoption as a solution to their struggle with infertility, and achieve their dreams of a family.
After her mother’s tragic illness and untimely death, Lazarus sought to ease her grief through adding a girl to the family. She and her husband began a four-year, arduous, complicated and emotional journey through infertility, miscarriages and adoption, ending in a small town in rural Missouri, where they finally met their new daughter as she came into the world. "March Into My Heart," a memoir, is a poignant and inspiring story of family, adoption and the bond between a mother and daughter.
Island Books is located at 3014 78th Ave. S.E. on Mercer Island.
