Five from Mercer Island earn Eagle Scout honors

Five Mercer Island students recently were awarded the rank of Eagle Scout during a ceremony on April 20.

As part of local scout Troop 647, the five were honored on board the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Polar Star in downtown Seattle.

Those from Mercer Island include: Brooks Hamilton, Matt McLellan, Jake Julich, Peter Scott and Brian Oppenheim.
