For 30 years, Youth Theatre Northwest (YTN) has nurtured the artistic talents of youth from across the Puget Sound region. After three decades, many YTN alumni have matured into accomplished and venerable artists, working at respected theatres, schools and performing arts organizations across the nation.

In this 30th Anniversary year, YTN has launched a new program to welcome alumni back to our home and stage. The Alumni Annex is designed to give YTN alumni opportunities to further develop their skills as emerging theatre professionals, provide mentoring opportunities for current YTN students and provide professional, high-quality performance experiences for Mercer Island and the greater community.

The Alumni Annex will present Speech and Debate as its inaugural show. This dark and hilarious, one-of-a-kind play navigates the “borderland between late adolescence and adulthood, where grown-up ideas and ambition coexist with childish will and bravado.”

Speech and Debate performs on YTN’s Studio Stage August 1, 2 & 3; all performances are at 7 p.m. at YTN 8805 S.E. 40th Street on Mercer Island.

Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for youth/seniors. Tickets may be purchased by calling the Box Office at (206) 232-4145, ext. 109, or online at www.youththeatre.org or at the door.
