Masons honor top MIHS juniors

The Brothers of the Mercer Island Masonic Lodge held their annual achievement awards program honoring the top Mercer Island High School juniors for academics.

Those honored were: Natalie Marr, Ella Mathews, Alisa Owens, Hannah Salter, Martina N. Unutzer, Ethan Batson, Michael Ellis and Brett D. Mills.

For the first time in the program’s 42 years, two girls and two boys tied for the top honor of student of the year. The 2009 students of the year were: Mathews, Owens, Batson and Mills.

All of the juniors were chosen by the Masons for their remarkable scholastic achievements and community service.
