Several Mercer Islanders have graduated from Seattle Pacific University. Founded in 1891, Seattle Pacific University is a Christian university that serves more than 3,800 undergraduate and graduate students.

Allison Nicole Jelinek, of Mercer Island, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in business administration, and an international business emphasis.

Colin Thomas Rigby, of Mercer Island, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in business administration, and an international business emphasis.

Sarah Pauline Siebert, of Mercer Island, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in interior design.

Nicholas James Strange, of Mercer Island, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in art, and an illustration/new pictures emphasis.

Lauren Camille Asher graduated with honors from Occidental College in Los Angeles, Calif. (the alma mater of President Barack Obama). A lifelong Mercer Island resident, Asher received a bachelor’s degree in diplomacy and world affairs, with a second major in Spanish, literacy and cultural studies.
