Mercer Island Definitive Dancers from left Danielle Katsman, Lizzy Sagerson, Marissa Shibuya, Romy Witz, Jade Jordan, Marisa Katsman, Megan Ingram and Alana Anderson recently took part in the Tremaine Dance competition in Vancouver, Wash. The senior team from Mercer Island took first place for its musical theater routine “Little Shop of Horrors.” The senior trio of Marisa Katsman, Megan Ingram and Alana Anderson also won first place in the jazz category. The Junior Dance Team, including Taleah Levin, Kailee Yan, Maddie Moran, Madeline Gile, Lily Gile, Sarah Salisbury, Carly Burnstein, Emma Gottllieb, Beni Gottesman, Bito Gottesman and Caroline Young, also brought home a first-place trophy in the tap category for “Blue Suit Boogie.”
