Youth Theatre Northwest closes summer season with musical

Youth Theatre Northwest will present Thoroughly Modern Millie from August 27 – September 5.

Set in New York City in 1922, the story follows Millie Dillmount who has just moved to the big city in search of a new life. It’s a New York full of intrigue and jazz— a time when women were entering the workforce and the rules of love and social behavior were changing forever.

Performances are Friday and Saturday evenings at 7 p.m. with matinee performances on Saturdays and Sundays at 2 p.m.

The production includes 25 actors, ages 10 to 17, from Bellevue, Mercer Island, Issaquah, Renton, Newcastle and Seattle.

All performances will be held at Youth Theatre Northwest, 8805 SE 40th St., Mercer Island.
