Professional travel photographer and Bellevue resident Paul Hurd will display his an exhibit entitled, “Fall Colors” at Omega Photo in downtown Bellevue for the month of September.

Hurd was raised in the Thousand Islands Region of Northern New York. His father’s hobby of photography ignited his interest in taking pictures.

Even though his career path next led him to the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, and into the cockpit of a P3C as a navy pilot, he pursued photography by creating the “Cruisebook” or equivalent of a Navy squadron yearbook. The success with the Navy cruisebooks helped him to realize his talent for journalism and photography.

After a career as an airline pilot, Hurd became a travel photographer and writer, doing articles for several travel magazines, including Travel and Leisure and Travel/Holiday.

Over the years he has been published in over a thousand photos in books, advertisements, newspapers, and travel magazines.

Omega Photo is located at 1100 Bellevue Way NE. The store is open from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.
