Master Chorus Eastside to celebrate America
June 7, 2011 · 1:46 PM
Master Chorus Eastside will celebrate the Fourth of July again this year with its All-American Independence Celebration in Issaquah’s historic Pickering Barn on June 26.
The event will include American music of all styles, from early Americana to frontier music to gospel and sing alongs side-by-side with Linda Gingrich’s commentary.
“We’ve been doing this concert every year since 1999,” said Gingrich, MCE’s artistic director and conductor, “and it just keeps growing in popularity. We tried several different venues in the early years, but Pickering Barn is the perfect place for a down-home celebration like this.”
This year the theme is American Legends, and includes songs representing John Henry, Paul Bunyan, Pecos Bill, and living legends such as Chief Joseph and Davey Crockett.
Due to popular demand MCE presents two shows this year, at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.
All admissions are $12 a person or $36 per family. Group rates also are available. Tickets are available by phone at 425-392-8446, online at www.ticketweb.com or at the door.
Pickering Barn is located at 1730 10th Ave, N.W., Issaquah.
