Former Washington First Lady and longtime Seattle Symphony Board member Nancy B. Evans will lead the Seattle Symphony’s search for a new music director.

The 11-member search committee has begun working to find a successor for current Music Director Gerard Schwarz, who steps down after 26 years at the end of the 2010–2011 season. It is the committee’s hope to announce the appointment of his replacement by the close of that season.
