School district should drop Discovering math curriculum from consideration

The Bellevue School District's Math Adoption Committee is soliciting feedback from members of the community on the adoption of new high school math books in Bellevue. This decision is imminent, and very controversial because the committee has narrowed its decision down to two choices, Holt and Discovering.
Discovering has been found to be "mathematically unsound," and the Seattle School District was successfully sued on Feb. 4 for adoption of the Discovering curriculum. Yet many Bellevue parents remain unaware the BSD is still considering Discovering.
As a parent with two children in the Bellevue School District, I attended the Nov. 16 math information meeting at Newport High School. I left the meeting feeling very concerned about the committee's seemingly defensive posture toward audience concerns about the Discovering Math Curriculum.
Now, with the successful lawsuit against the Seattle School District for its adoption of Discovering, I will be outraged if BSD does not drop Discovering like a hot potato.
I don't care how much bureaucratic work has been done in arriving at Discovering as a viable option - it is not. Parents in Bellevue do not want a mathematically unsound math curriculum and taxpayers do not want to fund math books the district will inevitably be sued over.
