MIHS Science Club places at state tournament

Nine students placed within the top four in their events.

The Mercer Island High School science club received several awards at the Science Olympiad State Tournament held earlier this month at Eastern Washington University.

Team advisors are teachers Kimberly Griggs and Celeste Stroup.

MIHS students placed in the following events:

  • Anatomy and Physiology – 4th Place, Zach Leung and Hannah Lebow
  • Interrogating the Brain – 4th place, Marissa Garrido and Aleksandra Kogalovski
  • Optics – 3rd place, Minje Park and Leonard Jung
  • Dynamic Planet – 3rd place, Ben Molina and Thomas Horton-King
  • Mission Possible – 4th place, Kelly Shi and Thomas Horton-King
