The North Mercer QFC will be hosting wine tastings in its store beginning with the official inaugural event this Saturday, Nov. 13, at 2 p.m. in the wine department. The special guest at the tastings is John Sarich, culinary director for Chateau Ste. Michelle. After a year long pilot program, all QFC store wine stewards will host tastings in stores.

Before Sarich was a celebrity chef on the Food Network, he worked as a winery guide for Chateau Ste. Michelle. Later, he opened the Adriatica restaurant. The Seattle Times listed him as one of the top five local chefs, and Esquire Magazine named him one of the country’s “hot new chefs.” Sarich returned to Chateau Ste. Michelle as Culinary Director in 1992.
