From now until June 7 throughout King County, families are taking up the pledge to be soda free on Sundays.

The program encourages residents of King County to think about their drinking habits by giving up soda and other sugary drinks on Sundays through May.

According to the county, one in five middle and high school students are overweight or obese, and over half of adults in King County are either overweight or obese.
