Michelle Kwon of Mercer Island recently spent a week serving as a Senate page.

Kwon was sponsored by Sen. Brian Weinstein, D-41st District.

Kwon, the daughter of Yung Kwon and Helen Yi, attends Mercer Island High School where she is in the 11th grade and a member of the National Honor Society. She is active in the yearbook committee as well as the Junior Statesmen of America. In the future, she hopes to attend Harvard University and pursue a career in law.

Each year approximately 280 young people between the ages of 14 and 16 participate in the legislative page program, traveling to the Capitol to learn firsthand about the legislative process.
