Mary Davis, a 17-year-old Mercer Island High School student, is one of 35 finalists on ``Gimme the Mike 2,'' a talent competition produced by KONG-TV.

John Curley, host of ``Evening Magazine,'' will host the program from the Experience Music Project with a panel of celebrity judges, including Bender of KISS-FM's ``Jack and Bender Show,'' Island resident Carla DeSantis, founder and publisher of ROCKRGRL Magazine, and hip hop artist Sir-Mix-A-Lot.

The episode featuring Davis is expected to air at 8 p.m. Monday, March 28 on KONG-TV.

Judges will select five finalists and viewers will select a ``viewer's choice'' finalist via the Internet on kongtv.com. Those six will compete on a special live broadcast Monday, April 25 from 8:30 to 10 p.m.

The grand-prize winner will receive a 2005 Chevrolet Aveo and trip for two to New York City.

The winner will also record an original song for the ``Christmas in the Northwest'' CD written by composer and Mercer Island resident Hummie Mann, and songwriter Sue Ennis.
