Wings to fly

The sky is definitely not the limit for Islander Reid Sanborn. Not only did he get his wings last November and was selected for the
F-15E training program, but upon graduating from the Air Force Academy, Sanborn received four awards out of 23 other graduates: the Academic Award; Flight Training Award; Commander's Trophy and the Distinguished Graduate Award.
Sanborn was born and raised on Mercer Island, attended Mercer Island High School and went to college at Washington State University. It was there that he joined the R.O.T.C.
Once Sanborn's F-15E training is completed, he will receive a permanent assignment.
