Clubs

Mercer Island Visual Arts League (MIVAL) will meet at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, March 1, at the Mercer Island Library, 4400 88th S. E. The Board will meet at 11 a.m. Speaker for the meeting will be Dan Riley, Northwest artist. His topics will be figure drawing, perspective, how to achieve a personal style. All are welcome.

The ProBus Club of Mercer Island will meet at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 7, at the Presbyterian Church, 3605 84th Ave. S.E. The speaker will be Kathy Troost, Research scientist in the University of Washington Department of Geological Sciences who will discuss “Mercer Island Geology and Fault Lines.”

The Mercer Island Republican Women will meet at 11:30 a.m. Monday, March 5, at the Market House, 7525 S.E. 24th St.

Mercer Island Women’s Club luncheon begins at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 13, at the Seattle Yacht Club, 1807 East Hamlin Street. Guest speaker is Kelly Stockman Reid, executive director, CASA/GAL (Court Appointed Special Advocates/GuardianAd Litem). All are welcome. Classes

The Real Purim Story the true story of Purim as told in The Talmud. Taught by Rabbi Yechezkel Kornfeld. The third class is from 7:15 to 8:45 p.m. Monday, Feb. 26, at the Community Center at Mercer View, 8236 S.E. 24th St. No cost. Snacks will be provided.

Sunnybeam School is accepting applications for the 2007-2008 school year.   • Shallow water exercise, a drop-in exercise class to increase flexibility and range of motion during an aerobics workout, is from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
