Island Boy Scouts are collecting food over the next several weeks for the Eastside food bank of Hopelink. The annual collection helps offset the dip in food bank inventories after the holidays. Watch for doorknob hangers at your home.
Mailing day for 2005 Mercer Island Directories is at 9 a.m. Friday, March 18, in the Great Room at Emmanuel Episcopal Church. Community volunteers are needed to prepare 6,500 directories for mailing. Men are need for lifting and carrying books.
