Unfortunately, there are those who think this law applies to everyone except them. Voice control of your pet is not enough. Keep them leashed (it’s the law), unless they are in an approved off-leash area (there is one on the Island).

Last week the boys lacrosse team faced off against one of its biggest rivals, Bellevue, in the Friday night ‘Game of the Week.’ Though the Islanders lost 9-8 to Bellevue, the team finished the week with a 1-1 record, having beaten Snohomish on Tuesday.

The Mercer Island High School's annual Relay for Life event took place last weekend at the high school. Over 70 teams participated in the event, which raises money for the American Cancer Society.

Mercer Island fourth at KingCo tournament | Girls prep golf

The Mercer Island girls golf team competed in the KingCo tournament at Willows Run Golf Course on Monday, May 6. The Islanders finished in fourth place as a team overall with a score of 486. Interlake won the event with a team score of 468.
