West Mercer fourth-grader Kit Stoll and at least eight of his friends set up and ran a haunted house in the Stoll family garage for Halloween. They donated money that they made from the event to the Mercer Island Schools Foundation. Kit’s mother, Mary Stoll, said that her son and his friends took to heart the lessons they learned about philanthropy from their teacher, Denise DiPrima.

Kit’s friends who helped out included: Jeff, Katie and Mollie Parkinson, Evan Doty, Will St. Mary, Alex Kendrick, Luke Johnson and Kendall Carey.
