East Link continues moving forward

The East Link light rail project is continuing to move forward, as the draft environmental impact statement is now available for comment.

The light rail plan was reworked to include the preferred Bellevue alternatives. The current plan has the light rail running over Mercer Island, along the I-90 corridor, up Bellevue Way to the South Bellevue Park-and-Ride before possibly going underground in downtown Bellevue.

The next steps for the project include engineering and environmental analysis, including the draft of the environmental impact statement, which the public can comment on from Nov. 12 until Jan. 10, 2011. There will be a public hearing on the topic at Bellevue City Hall on Tuesday, Nov. 30, from 4 to 7 p.m. with the hearing beginning at 5 p.m.
