Mercer Island School District will be closed Wednesday, Nov. 23, according to the district Web site.

Superintendent Gary Plano wrote on the Web site that due to cold temperatures and bad road conditions all schools on the Island would close for the second time this week. All schools, before and after school activities, elementary parent conferences and evening activities are canceled for November 24.

Temperatures are expected to remain below freezing into Thanksgiving Day.
