It appears certain that Mercer Island resident, Republican Steve Litzow will be the State Senator representing the 41st Legislative District in King County. The recount completed today at 4 p.m. shows that Litzow won over incumbent Randy Gordon, a Democrat, by 196 votes. The recount added two more votes to Gordon's total, but made no difference in the overall outcome, as Litzow's count did not change. King County Elections conducted the recount as the difference between the two candidates was less that .25 percent of the total. The result will become official on Friday at a special meeting to certify the recount of the Elections Canvassing Board at 3 p.m.
