Mercer Island DECA students earn top spots at Bellevue competition

Members of the Mercer Island High School DECA team earned top finishes at a competition in Bellevue on Feb. 2. The team brought home over 40 medals out of 20 high schools and 1,400 students.
Wendy Ayers and Morgan Fink earned a first place overall in the advertising campaign, while Chris Roth and Olivia Rosen earned a first place in hospitality role play. Brian Bernstein and Renee Chiang brought back a second place for the advertising campaign competition, while Allyssa Garret finished second in the business services role play.
Several others advanced to the state competition, including: Matti Friedman, Michael Diamond, Sam Alpert, Jack Pearl, Jake Leibson, Daniel Cohen, Carlie Anderson, Caroline Ruwe, Dominique Bitners, Brooke Byun, Shannon Bengston, Eric Chang, Byron Guo, Faith Mach, Emily Thramer, Sydney Tonlinson and Lauren Picton.
