Dong named to President’s Export Council
March 2, 2011 · 9:14 AM
The law firm Dorsey & Whitney LLP has announced that Nelson Dong, a Mercer Island resident and a partner in the firm’s Seattle office and head of its National Security Practice Group, has been appointed to the President’s Export Council Subcommittee on Export Administration (PECSEA). The PECSEA advises the Department of Commerce on U.S. export control policy and process issues to serve the country’s economic, national security, foreign policy and non-proliferation interests.
“It is a great privilege and responsibility to be asked to advise the government in this capacity,” Dong said. “Export controls are a complex area of public policy, and the PECSEA provides valuable input to federal officials on the impact these controls have on the private sector, especially when the government has announced such unprecedented changes in these rules.”
